The Wooden Shoe Cabinet, Done Properly

This is the classic of the entryway — a wooden shoe cabinet with clean full-height doors, tiered shelves behind them, and an open shelf at the base for the pairs in daily rotation. No gimmicks: solid timber, softly rounded corners, a raised top lip that keeps keys and ornaments from sliding off, and slender turned legs that lift the whole piece off the floor. It is the cabinet most Singapore entryways are actually looking for, built to a standard most are not.

Behind the Doors

Push-to-open doors conceal five tiers of full-width shelving — the household's collection lined up, dust-free and out of sight. The 60cm and 80cm models carry two doors; the 100cm model steps up to three, so each section opens onto its own run of shelves and no door ever blocks another. As a guide: around 10 to 12 pairs behind the doors of the 60cm model, 14 to 16 in the 80cm, and 18 to 22 in the 100cm.

The Open Base Shelf

Below the doors, the open shelf carries the shoes that never stop moving — slippers, school shoes, commuter sneakers. Air circulates freely so damp pairs dry naturally, children can reach their own shoes, and the enclosed section stays tidy because the everyday pairs never need to go inside.

A Top That Holds the Doorway Together

The display surface is framed by a raised lip on three sides — a small detail that stops the daily clutter of keys, mail and ornaments from sliding off the back or sides. At 100cm high, it lands at a natural console height: below most switch panels and DB boxes, above the visual noise of the floor.

Three Widths

All three models share the same 35cm depth and 100cm height; the width — and the door count — changes.

  • 60cm (2 doors) — for tight corridors and studio entryways. $500
  • 80cm (2 doors) — the balanced choice for most 3-room and 4-room HDB entryways. $580
  • 100cm (3 doors) — the family-size cabinet, with three sections and the largest capacity in this design. $660

At 35cm deep, even the 100cm model keeps a standard 90–110cm corridor clearly walkable, and the raised legs keep the floor line visible — lighter to the eye, easy to clean beneath, and friendly to robot vacuums.

Solid Rubberwood, Water-Based Finish

The cabinet is built from solid rubberwood — a dense plantation-grown hardwood with a Janka hardness of around 960 to 1,000 lbf that holds its shape, doors and hinges true through Singapore's humidity swings. Every surface is sealed with a water-based paint finish: no strong paint smell, no off-gassing period, safe for occupied homes from the day it is installed, and it keeps its colour over the years rather than yellowing.

Three Finishes

Natural Wood is light and honey-toned, at home in Scandinavian and Japandi interiors. Black Walnut brings a deep classic brown with rich grain. Natural White is the two-tone option — soft white door fronts in a natural timber frame, bright without being stark, made for lighter HDB and BTO palettes.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many pairs does it hold in total?

Counting the enclosed shelves and the open base shelf: roughly 12 to 15 pairs in the 60cm model, 17 to 20 in the 80cm, and 22 to 26 in the 100cm, depending on how you mix flats, sneakers and bulkier shoes.

Why does the 100cm model have three doors?

A wider cabinet with only two doors means long, heavy door panels swinging into the corridor. Three doors keep each panel light, each swing short, and each section independently accessible — one open door never blocks the shelves beside it.

Will shoes smell inside?

Let damp pairs dry on the open base shelf before shelving them behind the doors, and wipe the interior monthly. The solid timber shelves wipe clean and do not hold on to odours.

Will it fit my HDB corridor?

Almost certainly. At 35cm deep, even the widest model leaves the walkway clear in a standard 90–110cm corridor.

How is it assembled?

Our own team assembles it in your home. A cabinet of this size travels safely in parts and is built in your entryway — which is also what lets it clear lifts, stairwells and doorways. Assembly is included free with delivery anywhere in Singapore, along with placement and levelling.
